2022 Oldies But Goodies Exhibit

The Online Registration Period is:
Monday, February 14th to Thursday, February 24th @ Midnight
Receiving of Art: Saturday, March 5th, 10 a.m. to Noon
Exhibit Dates: Tuesday, March 8th to Friday, April 1
Reception and Takedown: Saturday, APRIL 2 (NEW DATE)
RECEPTION 1-3 pm and TAKEDOWN 3-4 pm:
This Exhibit will feature artwork displayed at the Middletown Township Public Library (MTPL) and on the ASMC’s Website. The Exhibit is not sponsored at this time and no monetary awards will be given. The Exhibit is open to all current ASMC Members (see below) and an Entry Fee will be assessed. The Exhibit will be judged by a professional who will evaluate the various medium categories for award ribbons (1st, 2nd, 3rd place and achievement ribbons).

ONLINE REGISTRATION DATES:
● To participate in this exhibit, you must register online which starts –
Monday, February 14th and ends Thursday, February 24th @ Midnight (no
exceptions past the deadline). By providing the requested information and a
JPEG file, your work will appear both in our website gallery of the exhibit and
be displayed at MTPL. If you do not want your work to appear in
our website gallery, then you do not have to attach a JPEG file, but you still
must provide the requested information on the Submission Form.
● Our Virtual Art Exhibit will be on our website beginning Friday, March 11.
● If you cannot drop off your artwork on Receiving Day (Saturday, March 5th from 10 a.m. to Noon), please arrange for someone else to do so.
● An Exhibit Awards Reception will be held MTPL on Saturday, APRIL 2 (new date) from 1-3pm and take-down & removal of artworks to follow.
EXHIBIT REQUIREMENTS
● A participant in this exhibit must be a fully paid, current member (see
below).
●Up to two (2) entries are permitted per artist.
● For this show, there is no “recency of creation” requirement (hence the name “Oldies But Goodies”) and cannot have previously won any ASMC monetary awards. Works of art to be older than five years.
● The artwork represented in your submitted JPEG file(s) must be an original
work by the artist; The artwork can be for sale or not for sale “NFS” (this Exhibit is the only ASMC show where “NFS” is allowed). The sale price should be based upon a matted and/or framed work. No nudes or political statements will be accepted.
- for photographs all elements must be the work of the submitting
artist and have been produced by a camera or cell phone. However,
computer-generated textures for backgrounds and software enhancements may be used.
- computer-generated images are not considered photographs.
● Artists are encouraged to insure their works, as the ASMC is not
responsible for damage or loss of artwork during the Exhibit.
● 1st, 2nd, 3rd Place and Achievement Ribbons may be awarded by an
independent judge for the following mediums: acrylics, oils, pastels, photography, watercolors, mixed/other, drawing, digital art, and sculpture (artist must provide a pedestal). If entries in any category are four or fewer, that medium will be combined with another medium.
● Exhibit physical-entry restrictions:
- works exceeding 24” x 30” (frame included) will not be accepted;
- works weighing over 15 pounds will be excluded.
● A 20% commission to ASMC will be collected for works sold as a result of
the Exhibit. Sales Tax remittance is the responsibility of the artist. Inquiries
for purchase of art will be made to the ASMC’s
email: info@artsocietyofmonmouthcounty.org. The artist will be contacted
and connected with the potential buyer.
● The Submission Form requires an Electronic Signature. To do this, press
and hold your “Mouse” in the box until a dot is shown and you can “write”
your signature holding the left “Mouse” button down. By providing this
Electronic Signature you agree that the rules for this Exhibit will be followed,
that the information is correct and it is not subject to modification.
MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION
The ASMC Annual Membership starts September 1st and ends August 31st.
If you are not current with your dues, your membership can be renewed by
mailing a check for $30 for individuals or $40 for household, payable to the
ASMC and mailed to the:

Alternatively, you can use PayPal (accessed from our website).
If you are not a member, you can join the ASMC by going to the: “Join Us”
Membership page at www.artsocietyofmonmouthcounty.org and follow the
instructions on the new Membership page.
After completing the new member form, you can use PayPal instead of
mailing a check. Once your form and payment are received, you will be
contacted by our Membership VP to welcome you. You may then enter the
exhibit.
ENTRY SUBMISSION PROCESS
There are six steps are involved in the submission process:
Step 1 – ARTWORK PREPARATION
● Photograph your artwork using a camera or cell phone. Avoid glare,
reflections and distortions (see instructions on our website).
Save your selected JPEG files on your device.
● Select one or two JPEG file(s) of the selected work(s) to be entered.
(no frame or mat showing).
● Resize your JPEG file(s). Resolution at 72 ppi; long side is equal or
greater than 2000 pixels. File size must less than 3 MB. If you can, set Color Space to s-RBG, done for better viewing with a monitor.
- If you need assistance with resizing your photo, see instructions on our website.
- Mobile phone photographs are acceptable (submit as a JPEG file).
● Rename your JPEG file
- Select a Medium Code for the file:
O = Oils; A = Acrylics; WC = Watercolors; PA = Pastels;
PH = Photography; and MO = Mixed/Other, DR = Drawing; DA = Digital Art; and
S = Sculpture.
● Required Information for JPEG File Name:
“Medium Code_Name Last_ Name First_ Title”
Example: “PH_Smith_John_My Old Homestead”
Notes:
- Be sure that your JPEG files are is properly resized and named before
“Clicking” the “Submission Form” link.
- During online submission you will be asked to provide: the height
(H) and width (W), both in inches, of the unframed artwork, the
year in which the artwork was completed and the cost to a buyer to
purchase the artwork.
- any additional comments, such as: type of frame & matting, cost
options, etc.
- By submitting JPEG files to the ASMC, you are granting permission
for these files this file to be utilized for promoting shows and exhibits sponsored
by the ASMC. It is further understood that the Copyright for said JPEG
files remains with the submitting artist.
Step 2 – ENTRY FEE PAYMENT METHODS* See End Notes for further details
TO ENTER THE EXHIBIT, YOU MUST BE A CURRENT MEMBER
AND PAY A $5 ENTRY FEE
● Payment Option 1 - Pay with Check (no cash accepted):
- Make check out to the ASMC; Memo “2022 OLDIES BUT GOODIES Exhibit”
- Mail check IMMEDIATELY to:

- You will receive an email from the ASMC referencing your payment.
● Payment Option 2 - Pay using PayPal (found on Submission Form):
- After you have filled in the required information on the
Submission Form and selected PayPal as a method of payment,
you will be directed to the PayPal site.
- Provide the “Entry Fee” and in the “Write a Note” box”, please
include your name and “Oldies But Goodies Exhibit”.
- You may utilize your Debit Card or Credit Card instead of a
PayPal account.
- You will receive a notice from PayPal confirming payment.
Step 3 – ARTWORK ENTRY and PAYMENT
At this point in the Exhibition Submission Process, please make sure that you
understand the requirements regarding entry, payment and what
information you will receive from the ASMC and PayPal. You will receive an
acknowledgment that your submission has been received from the ASMC
regardless of your method of payment (from noreply@jotform.com) and an
additional acknowledgment from PayPal regarding your payment.
Note: the following addresses should be placed into your e-mail address
book, to prevent the confirmation from ending up in your SPAM
folder asmc722@gmail.com, info@artsocietyofmonmouthcounty.org and
noreply@jotform.com.
You are now ready to register. The registration period is from Monday, February 14th and ends Thursday, February 24th @ Midnight. Entry fees are non-refundable.
Note that Steps 4, 5 and 6 are what to do after you register.

Step 4 - CONFIRMATION OF SUBMISSION
Once you complete the Exhibition Submission Form in Step #3, you will
receive an acknowledgment that your submission payment has been
received by PayPal. If you elected to pay by Check, you will receive a
conformation e-mail from the ASMC when the Check is received. Regardless
of your method of payment, you will receive a confirmation in the form of an
e-mail from noreply@jotform.com describing the details of the
submission. If you do not receive these confirmations, contact the ASMC
If your dues are not current, you will be informed to “Renew”, so that your
work can be shown and be eligible for an award. If you are not a member,
you will be asked to join through the website. If you have not paid the exhibit
entry fee (either by check or PayPal) by March 5th you will not be entered
into the exhibit.
Step 5 – DROP OFF ARTWORK
Prior to traveling to MTPL, please check our website for any potential closure of the MTPL or our forced transition to a Virtual Exhibit. Prior to dropping off your artworks, please fill out and print a “BACK LABEL”; A tag number (TAG #) will be provided on Receiving Day that will identify your works for judging.
Step 6 – END OF SHOW PICK-UP
At the conclusion of the exhibit at MTPL, all artworks must be
removed following the closing reception. If you cannot do this yourself,
please arrange to have it removed. If artwork remains, the ASMC
will take possession of the items for 30 days, after which the artwork will be
donated to a non-profit organization.
*NOTES:
At the end of the Submission form:
• if you select “Check”, click the "Submit" button. Please mail check to the ASMC.
• If you select “PayPal”, click the PayPal Checkout button. You will be
redirected to log into your PayPal account. After successfully paying
through PayPal, your submission information will be automatically be
submitted.
